We are proud to announce that the business development program developed for The Center for Pecan Innovation, a part of the Georgia Pecan Commission, by ST!R Marketing and Object 9 has been named an award recipient in the 2014 Silver Quill Awards Program.
The agencies presented their business plan and results for Beyond the Pie–New Marketing Approach for the Georgia Pecan Commission, and will receive their award at the IABC Southern Region Conference Silver Quill Awards Luncheon in October in Austin, Texas.
The winning entry highlighted the marketing communications plan that helped turn around the Georgia Pecan Commission program by focusing efforts on manufacturing and Business to Business (B2B) rather than focusing on customer-facing promotions. After much research, findings showed that a move to target food manufacturers would yield a much more impressive return on the goal of increasing domestic consumption of Georgia Pecans.
Featured in the entry were details on attending the IFT Show, social media outreach, the development of the Center for Pecan Innovation and the team’s work with a professional chef to develop innovative food samples using pecan products that were then sampled by food industry professionals at trade shows.
IABC Silver Quills are a prestigious public relations and communication awards given to communications professionals judged by their peers. Entries are judged only on the originality of the program but its effectiveness demonstrated by a variety of metrics. Competitors range from sole practitioners to national agencies, making for stiff competition.
