ATLANTA, Ga. (Jan. 26, 2016) – Just in time for the big game on Feb. 7. Georgia pecans are a win for any tailgating party—whether in your living room for your party or at your favorite team’s home games, says Trent Mason, spokesman for the Georgia Pecan Commission, during his upcoming appearance on The Balancing Act®.

The Balancing Act is America’s premier morning show that brings today’s busy, on-the-go women cutting-edge ideas to help balance and enrich their daily lives. Mason, a Georgia pecan grower, will appear on “Balancing Act” episodes that will air 7:30 a.m. EST on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 and Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, on Lifetime.

Mason will share recipes for Georgia Pecan Popcorn with Rosemary and Thyme and for Spinach Salad with Oranges, Georgia Pecans and Pancetta with “Balancing Act” host Julie Moran. He also gives the scoop on the many benefits of heart-healthy pecans, which are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.

“Antioxidants, which can reduce your risk of heart disease, caused the American Heart Association to name us a recommended heart-healthy food,” says Mason, who also serves as vice president of the Georgia Pecan Growers Association. “Like all nuts, pecans are also gluten- and sodium-free, so they work for many different diets and lifestyles.”

The Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Pecans (Georgia Pecan Commission) funds research, educational and promotional programs though its Center for Pecan Innovation in order to increase awareness and raise demand for Georgia pecans year-round.
